It doesn't feel like a book. It doesn't smell like a book. It doesn't sound like a book. It doesn't have the heft of a book. I can't take it into the bathtub with me.

Regardless of all that, I love it. There are times where I know I will buy the printed version instead, but I have found a place in my book filled world for this kindle. It can hold 3500 books. Every flat surface in my room is covered with piles of books. I think it was time to join this century.

How did you decide on a Kindle instead of a Nook? I know there are other options, but those are the two that come to the forefront. And are your books backed up digitally somewhere if you change devices (other than a pc?). How is battery life? I have so many questions. I am intrigued by the electronic readers.
